Blue Cypress Oil is produced from plantations of Callitris intratropica grown by the Australian Cypress Oil Pty Ltd in the Northern Territory of Australia, both on the mainland and on Bathurst and Melville islands.

Most of the plantation land is licensed to the company from its owners, the Tiwi people, or the Australian Government.

Harvested timber is sent from the plantations to Howard Springs, where it is distilled and packaged for shipment. The 3,000 hectares of Northern Territory plantations managed and harvested by Australian Cypress Oil Pty Limited are the only such commercially viable plantations in the world.
