Australian Blue Cypress Oil is selected to be the fragrance to evoke Australia at the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games. Through a range of 11 Olympic products produced by Jurlique International, makers of Australian natural skin care products, Blue Cypress Oil will be offered in products from fragrant candles, oil burners and gift sets.

The first article,‘NT has the good oil’ announced the "kick start" of a new multi-million dollar industry distilling essential oils, established a Howard Springs on the outskirts of Darwin. The article outlined the establishment of the Australian Cypress Oil Company in Dec 1995, its acquisition of a licence from the Northern Territory Government, and details the development of the project, with especial regard to its joint venture agreement with the Tiwi people.
